We provide personalized themes and decorations to match your vision. Whether you have a specific idea in mind or need suggestions, we've got you covered. We use an individualized approach in creating Cake Smash setups. For us, it's not only about taking pictures but also creating a positive experience for you. These sessions are tailored to the specific preferences and needs of each client. We take into consideration child's personality, interests, energy level, developmental stage, as well as the family's cultural traditions and personal style. If you are not sure about the theme for your baby's Cake Smash session, think of their interests or your colour preferences. Where are Cake Smash sessions held?
Cake Smash sessions take place in my cozy, fully equipped photo studio in Southeast Calgary, where everything is prepared to create a fun, comfortable, and stress-free experience for you and your little one.
When should I book a Cake Smash session?
It's best to book a cake smash session well in advance (2-3 months before the baby's birthday) to ensure that you can secure the date and time that works best for your family, and to give us plenty of time to plan and prepare for the session.
Does the session fee include a cake?
Absolutely! Your session fee includes a custom cake, professionally crafted by a local baker specifically for your cake smash session. Each cake is designed to complement your chosen theme, ensuring your photos look beautiful and cohesive.
Our standard cakes are made with common ingredients such as flour, sugar, butter, and eggs.
If your child has any allergies, dietary restrictions, or specific taste preferences, you're welcome to bring your own cake. We may also be able to arrange a sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, or egg-free cake, subject to confirmation and availability from our baker.
Is an outfit provided during the session?
Some simple outfits like onesies, baby girl dresses or tutu-skirts, rompers, pants, bows, and suspenders are provided. Some specific options, like a character's outfit, a Prince costume or a Snow White dress, for example, are available too.
However, if you need something very customized, like an outfit with your child's name on it or a costume specific to a certain theme or tradition, you will need to find and purchase the outfit yourself and bring it to the session.
What to expect during the photo session?
We will start by taking photos in the setup, using one outfit. If needed, you can change your baby, and then we will put the cake on a stand for the actual cake-smashing. The final images will be taken in a small bathtub with warm water and bubbles.
