Cake smash sessions in Calgary

A Cake Smash session is a popular and adorable way to commemorate your child's first few birthdays.

Cake Smash Sessions are usually designed for kids of one, two or three years old.

I use an individualized approach in creating Cake Smash setups. For me, it's not only about taking pictures but also creating a positive experience for you. These sessions are tailored to the specific preferences and needs of each client. We take into consideration child's personality, interests, energy level, developmental stage, as well as the family's cultural traditions and personal style.

If you are not sure about the theme for your baby's Cake Smash session, think of their interests or your colour preferences. You are welcome to browse some of my works below for inspiration, and Pinterest is also great for ideas. Then send me a screen shot of a theme you like. Let's get in touch and plan a session filled with laughter, smiles and happy moments!

Where are Cake Smash sessions held?

They are held in my cozy photo studio in SE Calgary.

When should I book a Cake Smash session?

It's best to book a cake smash session well in advance (2-3 months before the baby's birthday) to ensure that you can secure the date and time that works best for your family, and to give us plenty of time to plan and prepare for the session.

Does the session fee include a cake?

Absolutely! As part of the session fee, you will receive a 6" round cake. This cake is specially crafted by a professional baker, ensuring that every cake smash photo looks absolutely stunning. What's more, the cake can be customized to perfectly match the theme of your photoshoot, adding an extra touch of creativity and charm. Some options, like peanut or nut free, or gluten free can be available. However, if there are any specific allergies to consider, you are more than welcome to bring your own cake, guaranteeing a worry-free and enjoyable experience.

Is an outfit provided during the session?

Some simple outfits like onesies, rompers, pants or skirts, bows, and suspenders are provided. If you need something more customized, like an outfit with your child's name on it or a costume specific to a certain theme or tradition, you will need to find and purchase the outfit yourself and bring it to the session.

What to expect during the photo session?

We will start by taking photos in the setup, using one outfit. If needed, you can change your baby, and then we will put the cake on a stand for the actual cake-smashing. If you choose an option with a bath, the final images will be taken in a small bathtub with warm water and bubbles.
